Fans of CID are in celebratory mode. Reports are coming in that the producers are planning a new season. CID was one of the longest running shows in the history of Indian TV, telecast for 20 years from 1998-2018 on Sony Entertainment Television. The main star cast of CID included actors Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Aditya Srivastava as Senior Inspector Abhijeet, Dayanand Shetty as Senior Inspector Daya, the late Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector 'Freddy' Fredricks and Narendra Gupta as Dr RP Salunkhe, the forensic expert. Several new cast members appeared on the show over the years.
Created, produced and directed by BP Singh of Fireworks Productions, the iconic detective show has a cult fan base till date. Many episodes of CID were written by Sridhar Raghavan, who is known for movies like Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, Hrithik Roshan's War and Salman Khan's Tiger 3. CID was filmed in Mumbai in and around real locations. While no official announcement are there about the possible return of CID, there is buzz about Aditya Srivastava and Dayanand Shetty doing a travel show together as well as a film.
