Collin D’Cunha had also shared details about Ananya Panday’s role in Call Me Bae. Times of India: “Ananya Panday shines as Bella, delivering a relatable performance that anchors the show. Her portrayal of a character who is both vulnerable and stubborn adds depth to the series, making Call Me Bae a guilty pleasure.”
India Today: “Ananya Panday does play the character with sincerity. She does give it her all. The character lacks the finesse that she showed in 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan', but she still nails it.”
Times Now: “Her transformation from a sassy rich woman to someone facing real-life challenges and growing with time is unmissable. She’s flawed, she’s relatable, and that’s her victory.”
Money Control: “While Das is at his comical best, Pandey contributes to the story by being just the ditzy, air-headed princess undergoing character development and finding her ground.”
Hindustan Times: “Ananya makes sure Bae is consistently fun, unassumingly self-deprecating, and surprisingly much more. Ananya is able to nail parts which require her to push herself beyond her perceived persona and potential.”
Call Me Bae, premiering on September 6 on the OTT platform, also features Vir Das, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Niharika Lyra Dutt and others in pivotal roles.
