I think we have seen enough number of times when Bigg Boss had to be saved by a wildcard entry. But truly nothing comes remotely close to the sheer awesomeness that was Sunny Leone's late entry on season 5 of the reality show. Our lives, the society and Indian cinema has never been the same ever since. And we all, especially Bollywood should thank Bigg Boss for that. Bigg Boss 12: Is Salman Khan's Show Scripted? These Ex-Contestants Spill The Beans.
As per an unofficial documentary on the actress, available on Netflix, Sunny was put on standby mode when Bigg Boss 5 premiered. When the show saw a decline in TRP, makers decided to use the Brahmastra and brought her in. Society, of course, had its problems with the decision. It still does. But that is the good thing about her arrival in India. It has exposed all the hypocrisy deep instilled in the Indian culture. But that is a topic that needs to be discussed at length, some other time.
Right now, let's focus on Bollywood. Had it not been for the failing TRPs of Bigg Boss 5, the world-famous film industry would have never given a chance to the enigma that is Sunny Leone. Brave, Desirable, Fearless and Real – Sunny Leone Unleashes Herself in the Latest Photoshoot – Watch Video.
Imagine, Bollywood without Sunny Leone. There would have been someone else, probably less deserving, dancing along with Shah Rukh Khan, on the tunes of Laila Main Laila.
There would not have been the face that drives the TRP for MTV Splitsvilla.
It was during the Sunny's Bigg Boss stay when she caught Mahesh Bhatt's attention. The acclaimed filmmaker especially entered the house to offer a lead role in Jism 2 to the actress. Since then there has been no looking back for Sunny.
Ever since her arrival, the Indian cinema has become more inclusive, and the audience, too, has learnt a thing or two about misplaced morality. Remember the time when the world came together to extend support to Sunny after a demeaning interview was aired by one of the biggest news channels in India?
But forget a thank you to Bigg Boss, Bollywood is yet to give Sunny Leone her due credit in the industry. When people with much lesser talent are successfully thriving and shining as top names in Bollywood, Sunny sure can be offered better projects.
The twelfth season of Bigg Boss is all set to premiere on the coming Sunday, with Salman Khan hosting the show once again. We hope the new season gives us someone as awesome as Sunny Leone who will teach us how to break stereotypes.
