Former Bigg Boss 7 contestant Armaan Kohli made headlines yesterday after he was arrested by the Excise department for illegal possession of 41 bottles of scotch whisky (most of them purchased abroad) at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai. For the uninitiated, it isn’t allowed to keep more than 12 liquor bottles in our possession for longer than a month. Law also prohibits one of bringing more than one bottle of liquor at a time from overseas.  However, now, he has come out on bail on a bond of Rs 20,000.

Yes, you read that right! Talking about the same, in a statement to Bombay Times, Kohli said, "I have secured bail for a bond of Rs 20,000. I returned from Dubai on Tuesday and, along with six friends, bought 12 bottles of whiskey from duty-free, as I was planning to host a party a few days later. I have the required liquor permit and duty-free license. Unlike what has been claimed, I just had around 40 bottles, of which 19 were unopened. I spent the night at the Bandra excise office."

He further told the daily, "I appeared before the court on Friday around 11.30 am and was granted bail on the basis of the proof I produced. Clearly, someone is after my life and wants to tarnish my image." Just a couple weeks ago too, Kohl i was in the news for allegedly abusing and threatening a woman fashion designer over some monetary issue. Earlier too, he made headlines when he was booked for physically assaulting his girlfriend Neeru Randhawa. Stay tuned to LatestLY for more such updates.
