Shilpa Shinde won the title of Bigg Boss 11 and the fans sighed in relief! After a lot of controversies right from her serial 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!' to her fight with producer- contestant Vikas Gupta, she always had the attention of the viewers. She raced past the strong contenders Hina Khan and Vikas and made her ‘Shilpian’ fans proud. The 40-year-old actress became popular as Angoori Bhabhi and her catchy tagline ‘Sahi Pakde Hai’ became instantly famous. However, after her fall out with the makers of the serial, the Maayka fame star was left with no work. Soon, she entered the Bigg Boss 11 house and in no time re-conquered the hearts of the fans. Well, these facts are known to every Bigg Boss follower by now. But here we would love to tell you some of the lesser known facts of the kitchen queen of BB 11.
1. Before venturing into the TV space, Shilpa earlier tried her luck in the Telugu films. Like most of the aspiring actors out there, she wished to shine in the south film industry and acted in films like Chinna and Shivani. To her discontent, these films did not help her mark her presence in Tollywood.
2. Shilpians, Shilmaa, Shikas…and more such names are floating on internet. However, you will be surprised to know that to enter Bollywood, ‘motherly’ actress changed her name to ‘Akanksha’. Her stint in Bollywood did not go well and she swapped her name back to Shilpa.
3. Hailing from a middle-class Maharashtrian family, Shilpa’s father was a judge in High Court of India. He passed away when Shilpa was working in the serial ‘Chidiyaghar’.
4. On the sets of ‘Maayka’, Shilpa found love in her co-star Romit Raj. The duo got engaged and the preparations of their wedding were in full swing. But just a month before their wedding, they called it off.
5. Shilpa studied in KC College and has a special degree in psychology. Her father wanted her to pursue with law studies, but the BB 11 winner followed her creative heart to become the star that she is.
