BARC Report Week 41, 2019: Bigg Boss 13 Fails to Make an Impact on TRP Ratings; Kundali Bhagya Retains Top Spot

With another Thursday upon us, we bring you the popularity chart given out by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC). This TRP chart will evaluate how your favourite shows are faring every week and will give you an insight into what the audience thinks of the shows currently running on the tube. As the BARC chart of week 41 (Saturday, October 5, 2019, to Friday, October 11, 2019) is here, let's take a look at the list to see which daily soaps have topped the charts and which ones have failed to impress the fans or even worse, slipped from their top spots. Let's find out what favourite shows have made it to the top five list. BARC Report Week 39, 2019: Kundali Bhagya Retains Its Number 1 Position, Bandini and Choti Sardarni Enters Top 5

Top 5 Shows (Urban)

Kundali Bhagya retained its first place, garnering 7310 million impressions. Sony SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah climbed up to grab the second position with 6741 million impressions, while Choti Sardarni has not only entered the top five shows on BARC’s list of most-watched shows in India but also climbed up to grab the third spot with 6581 million impressions viewership. While Superstar Singer - Singing Ka Kal has taken the fourth position, Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia's popular fictional show Kumkum Bhagya has dropped from its second spot this week. Grabbing the fifth position, Kumkum Bhagya garnered 6298 million impressions.

Top 5 Shows (Rural)

Dangal TV's Bandini, which first premiered in 2009 on NDTV Imagine and went on for almost six years, ranks number 1 in the rural section. The show, that stars Ronit Roy and Aasiya Kazi in the lead roles, garnered 9274 million impressions. Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shree Krishn, Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein, Mahima Shani Dev Ki took the second, third and fourth position in the top five shows on BARC’s list of most-watched shows in India. Kundali Bhagya, that has been topping the charts for the past several weeks in the urban section, grabbed the fifth spot with 6245 million impressions.

Top 5 Channels (Urban)

Sony Entertainment Television, Star Plus, SONY SAB, Colors and Zee TV are the top five channels in the urban section.

Going by the chart, it seems that people in rural areas are still fond of shows that are content-driven. As we can see, Dangal TV's Bandini, Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shree Krishn, Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein, Mahima Shani Dev Ki have taken the top four positions respectively. Meanwhile, Salmna Khan's Bigg Boss 13 failed to impress the audience in the rural and urban areas. Stay tuned!
