There seems to be nothing much going on in the TRP world. It’s been three weeks and TRPs of most of the shows and their positions in the Top 10 list, continue to be the same. Apart from the entry of Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 and The Kapil Sharma Show’s up and down journey, the lists have been pretty much the same. Only yesterday we reported the numbers that the shows attained this week. And here’s an analytical on what we feel worked this week and what did not work. BARC Report Week 4, 2019: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 Maintains Lead; The Kapil Sharma Show Slips Down Even Further
Khatron Ke Khiladi: Jigar Pe Trigger
Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s camaraderie is the icing on the lip-smacking chocolate cake that is this season of Khatron Ke Khiladi. The 9th season is doing wonders on the TRP charts.
Naagin 3, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Super Dancer Chapter 3
Naagin 3 came on top only because of The Kapil Sharma Show’s downfall, otherwise, its ratings were lower than last week’s. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai shone brightly on the charts because of the whole buzz surrounding the baby swap track. And Super Dancer Chapter 3 was yet another show that benefitted from Kapil’s show’s poor performance.
The Kapil Sharma Show, Kundali Bhagya and RadhaKrishn
Speaking of the elephant in the room, last weekend’s episodes of the comedy show featured episodes where Indian Idol’s judges and winner Salman Ali and finalist Nitin Kumar and the cast of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Sadly both the episodes did not work wonders on the TRP charts. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya was otherwise garnering decent ratings, but lost its 6th slot only because Yeh Rishta… entered Top 5. Star Bharat’s RadhaKrishn looks like one very underrated show and only seems to be climbing upward on the Top 10 list. However, this week the buzz was all about the show’s lead pair Sumedh Mudgalkar and Mallika Singh’s rumoured relationship, which seems to have been an added factor.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Tujhse Hai Raabta and Kumkum Bhagya
Did the confirmation that everybody’s favourite Disha Vakani aka Dayaben might not return to the show, affect the show’s TRPs? The show fell two spots down. Tujhse Hai Raabta A new entry. (track). Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya has definitely lost its charm and its numero uno spot, but still has its set of loyal audience, that helps the show stay on the list, albeit at the 10th spot.
While this week’s list is also as monotonous as it can get, there were only two shows that fared well- Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai which jumped from the 7th spot to the 3rd and RadhaKrishn that is seeing a steady growth with each passing week. Also, a surprise in the form of Tujhse Hai Raabta was also a standout point for this week.
