BARC REPORT: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 Tops The Charts; The Kapil Sharma Show Maintains Last Week’s Second Spot!
The TRPs for the second week are out now.
Its 2019 and the TRP report for the second week of January 2019 is out. And it was Colors’ that lead the charge with 3 of its shows making it to the Top 10 TRP list, followed closely by Sony TV with two of its shows. Also, another trend that we noticed was that whenever reality shows are on-air, they do tend to take precedence over fiction shows. While this week's ratings fluctuated a bit, the list was pretty much the same with the entry of a new show and the re-entry of another show in Top 5. Check out the list of Top 10 shows (According to Urban Charts)
Khatron Ke Khiladi: Jigar Pe Trigger
Colors’ Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 9 grabbed the top spot in the charts this week, a spot that once upon a time was always Naagin series’. There was a time when Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural franchise was undisputedly the No.1 show. But looks like gone are those days. Khatron Ke Khiladi entered its second week of the telecast and despite a lot of news being reported last year itself (the show was shot last year), the show’s buzz seems to be keeping everyone glued. In its debut week, Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi Jigar Pe Trigger secured 9761 impressions and also the 1st spot.
The Kapil Sharma Show Season 2, Naagin 3, Super Dancer 3 Auditions
2nd on the list is Sony TV’s The Kapil Sharma Show Season 2. There might have been a slight chance of the show topping the TRP charts this week if it was not for Khatron… The show stands proudly and has secured 9119 impressions, as compared to last week’s 8123 impressions, a stark increase. Grabbing the 3rd spot was the most disappointing season of the Naagin franchise, the third season. Despite a disappointing performance last week, the show redeemed itself this weekend when it secured 8998 impressions. Next in line and at the 4th position were the Super Dancer 3 Auditions, which garnered 7407 impressions. This week’s ratings of the show saw a drop in numbers and the spot as compared to last week (7678 and 3rd position).
Kundali Bhagya, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai
At the 5th spot is Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya that secured 6513 impressions. The show saw a dip in its ratings and position. Last week the show stood at the 4th spot with 6763 impressions. Looks like the re-entry of Naagin 3 into the Top 5 list has led to shows sliding one spot down. SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah secured 6151 impressions and took over the 6th spot, as compared to last week’s 6118 impressions. Once a definite name in the Top 5, Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, slid down considerably. The show stood at the 7th spot with 6116 impressions, as compared to last week’s 5997 impressions, an improvement we’d say, but not much.
Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, RadhaKrishn, Kumkum Bhagya
Colors’ Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki may have seen quite the up and down journey on the TRP list, but has hardly been kicked out of Top 10, such is the charm of the Colors’ show. This week, the show secured 5889 impressions and the 8th spot, as compared to last week’s 5628 impressions. Following closely was Star Bharat’s Radhakrishn with 5791 impressions at the 9th spot. And last in the list was ‘once a TRP Topper’ Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya, which secured 5780 impressions, barely managing to stay in the Top 10.
What is up with the lists these days? This week’s list was pretty much the same as last week’s, with the exception of the entry of Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 and the re-entry of Naagin 3 into Top 5. What are your views on the same? Comment below and tell us.
