Just when we all were still getting over Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika- The Queen of Jhansi, Colors channel, following close on the heels of the film, launched its own version of Manikarnika. Titled Khoob Ladi Mardani... Jhansi Ki Rani, the show saw child actress Anushka Sen play the titular role of Jhansi/Manikarnika and Vikas Manaktala as Gangadhar. The show was launched amidst huge pomp and show with the makers even inviting female police officers from the force to attend the launch event. Khoob Ladi Mardani…Jhansi Ki Rani Makers Pay Tribute To Female Police Officers!

However, the show that went on air on February 11, has not fared well on the TRP charts, despite receiving a positive response. After all, it all depends on the number game, right?

IWMBuzz quoted a source as saying, “Jhansi Ki Rani has not been able to up the ante with respect to its numbers. It has been doing very average in terms of numbers. The channel has decided to close it if the numbers do not improve. If things do not get better, the show will shut in July.”

Well, this is not the only show on Colors’ to be bidding good-bye to the audience. The channel has already announced the axing of Ishq Mein Marjawan, Udaan, Kesari Nandan, Roop – Mard Ka Naya Swaroop and Vish Ya Amrit – Sitara. Khoob Ladi Mardaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is all set to go off-air on July 24. We tried reaching Anushka Sen but did not get through until the time of filing the story.
