Alok Nath’s Bail Plea REJECTED; Actor To Get Arrested Anytime?
Well, the judiciary can bring in the actor anytime required, as he has been denied bail.
After Tanushree Dutta pioneered the #MeToo movement in India, a lot of women exposed their offenders. However, one of the most shocking incidents that were narrated, was that of producer and writer Vinta Nanda, who accused Alok Nath of raping her. In a lengthy post of Facebook, Vinta recounted her horror story from 10 years ago. The actor recently applied for anticipatory bail in the Dindoshi Sessions Court on Friday to avoid his arrest in connection with the case. However, his bail plea has been rejected, reported Mid-Day. The report reads, ‘On Friday, the court had adjourned the matter to December 20, after the complainant’s lawyer sought time to file an intervention plea opposing bail for Nath.’ And now, the Police can bring in Alok in connection with the case, anytime they want. Alok has apparently gone underground, other reports in the media state. In fact, a summon letter served by the Oshiwara Police also returned without being received. It is also being said that a number of lawyers had come down from Delhi and filed the bail plea on Alok’s behalf.
The Cine and Television Artists’ Association (CINTAA) has also kicked out Alok after he repeatedly failed to show up for his hearings.
A few weeks back, Alok Nath's wife had filed an injunction against Vinta, barring her from making any statement in public against the rape accused till the defamation suit was decided. But the Sessions Court rejected that plea as well.
