The third episode of Agatha All Along, titled 'Through Many Miles/Of Tricks and Trials', dropped on September 25 (September 26 in India), and it felt like a Kubrickian nightmare set in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and her 'coven' (Joe Locke, Debra Jo Rupp, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Patti LuPone) face their first trial on the Witches' Road, and presumably also their first casualty. The new episode of Agatha All Along sees Agatha and the others get into a lovely house that turns into a haven of nightmares when they drink poisoned wine. ‘Agatha All Along’ Review: Kathryn Hahn’s ‘Wicked Witch’ Act Casts a Mischievous Spell on This Campy but Enjoyable Marvel Series.

Their faces get deformed and then get back to normal; they begin to experience their darkest fears (for Mrs Hart, it's Wanda Maximoff and her encounter with her in episode 1 of WandaVision, but we never see it). And they are in a race against time to make and drink an antidote within half an hour that would stop them from drowning to death. By the end of the episode, they do survive the day to face another dangerous trial on the Road, but not all of them escape unscathed.

Mephisto is Part of MCU

Ever since the first episode of WandaVision dropped on Disney+, there were murmurs on the internet sphere about the demonic sorcerer Mephisto from the Marvel comics finally making his live-action appearance. Rumours were rife that Marvel had cast Al Pacino or Sacha Baron Cohen in the role, and theories got stronger with each episode. All of them turned out to be nought, as WandaVision doesn't even mention Mephisto, forget showing him, and the real villain of the show, if you do not count Wanda herself, was Agatha all along (sorry for the pun).

However, the new episode of Agatha All Along confirms the existence of Mephisto, raising the possibility that we will finally see him in the MCU, possibly in this series itself. Kale name-dropped him while speaking to Teen about how Agatha once traded her baby for the Darkhold and how that baby could be an agent of Mephisto. This obviously raises the red herring about Teen being Agatha's son and possibly a spawn of Mephisto. ‘Agatha All Along’: All You Need To Know About ‘Karakoram’, the Indian Tune You Heard in Kathryn Hahn’s ‘WandaVision’ Spinoff Series.

Here's How Marvel Fans Reacted to Mephisto Name-Drop in 'Agatha All Along'

'Finally Getting Name Dropped'

'Mephisto Incoming'

In the comics, Mephisto is a powerful demon who is often depicted as the antagonist to superheroes like Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, and even Spider-Man. Let's hope there is more of a physical manifestation of Mephisto rather than just a name-drop to stoke more empty fan theories.

Justice for Sharon

As we mentioned before, the third episode of Agatha All Along ends with the coven barely managing to escape the house of death, interestingly through an oven, before they could drown in the flooded house. For those who didn't get why 'oven' becomes a feature here,  Lilia even makes a comment on it about her friend once got killed in an oven, which should light a bulb in your head about the famous Brothers Grimm's tale of Hansel and Gretel. ‘Agatha All Along’: Kathryn Hahn Goes Nude in ‘WandaVision’ Spinoff, First Actress in MCU To Do So; Check Out When Franchise Played Around With Nudity Before!

Anyway, they carry the unconscious Mrs Hart (who drank the most wine) through the oven, sliding their way out into the forest, only for 'Teen' to declare Sharon is dead. We see the lifeless face of Sharon, aka Mrs Hart, as the camera pans out, but to rub salt in the wounds, Agatha jibes, 'who's Sharon?' leaving others scandalised, knowing she didn't bother to learn Mrs Hart's first name.

The fantastic Debra Jo Rupp (FRIENDS, That '70s Show) was such a delight as Mrs Hart that it was a shocker to see her go like this, particularly when you know that she had been once a victim of mind-prison by Wanda, and then essentially tricked and kidnapped by Agatha to be part of the 'coven'. This is why fans are trending #JusticeForSharon on X, feeling bad for this unfortunate character who became the first victim of the Trials.

Interestingly, this is the second episode of Agatha All Along that Aubrey Plaza's mysterious character has skipped after her quite memorable appearance in the first episode. Hopefully, we will be able to catch up on her in the fourth episode that drops next week. Agatha All Along is streaming on Disney+ and in India on Disney+ Hotstar.
