Ranveer Singh has been in the UK since a couple of weeks. The actor is shooting for his next film, '83, which is being directed by Kabir Khan. In the movie, which traces Indian cricket team's historic world cup win in the summer of 1983, Ranveer plays Kapil Dev, who was the captain of the team then. Deepika Padukone is also a part of the project as she plays Romi Dev, wife of Kapil Dev. The latest news about the film is that Deepika will join the team in London next month as that's when they will be filming the final match where India defeated West Indies to win the trophy and brought an entire nation to standstill.
Believed to be the climax of the film, Ranveer will get to shine, we all know that. But Deepika's contribution in this scene is definitely going to be memorable too. It's not a secret that back then Romi, who was watching her husband and his devils from the stands at the iconic Lords's Stadium left midway assuming India's defeat. However, when the wickets were falling and she wished to get in, she couldn't because she had given her pass away. This little anecdote is what is going to be recreated in July, reports Mid-Day. The report further states that the cast and crew have already shot another memorable match which saw India outdo Zimbabwe where Kapil played a good innings scoring 175 runs off 138 balls. Touted to be the "biggest sports film" to come out of Bollywood, '83 is scheduled to hit the theatres on April 10, 2020 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It marks the first-ever trilingual release for both, Ranveer and Kabir Khan.
