The 65th National Awards took place on Friday took place on Friday. The prestigious award ceremony is most awaited one in for the Indian entertainment industry. The jury is led by renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur along with other members including Kannada director P Sheshadri, screenwriter Imtiaz Hussain, actor Gautami Tadimalla and lyricist Mehboob. Last year, Akshay Kumar won the best actor award for Rustom while the best actress award was bagged by Malayalam actress Surabhi Lakshmi for Minnaminungu. This year, ample of good films hit the screens which made the race even more interesting. Sridevi won the best actress award for MOM. Newton won the best film award.
In an interview earlier, Sridevi was quoted talking about her role in this film and how she emotionally got connected to it. Talking about it, she shared, "Maybe, subconsciously I wanted to be in that frame. It didn’t allow me to be normal at home. We shot the film for three months."
"And my daughter and physiotherapist told me that I had become a different person. As an actor, you keep learning. There’s no end to it. All films that I have done, this legacy, is a like a dream come true for me. I live in the present, I look forward to all kind of films I get," she further added.
