Thammareddy Bharadwaja has assured that installing CASH is compulsory as per the Supreme Court directive and also in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act of 2013.
Tollywood actress Sri Reddy has created a stir in the South Indian cinema industry. The actress performed a topless protest, against the sexual harassment and casting couch in the industry. Post this, the Movie Artists Association (MAA) banned the artist. However, recently, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) slapped notices on the Telangana government and the Information & Broadcasting Ministry on the alleged sexual exploitation of women in the industry. This made MAA lift its ban on Sri Reddy. Not only this, but The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has also decided to set Committee Against Sexual Harassment (CASH) at various workplaces to address the complaints related to sexual exploitation, reports Mumbai Mirror.
As reported in the tabloid, MAA president Sivaji Raja, Producers Council president Thammareddy Bharadwaja, along with other members took a joint meeting regarding this issue. “We withdraw our Monday’s decision not to give her membership in MAA and advise her to apply for it. The screening committee will take a decision at its tri-monthly meeting. Sri Reddy is our sister. She will continue to get roles," they stated.
Meanwhile, after exposing intimate WhatsApp chats with Sekhar Kammula, Abhiram Daggubati, Viva Harsha and Sriram Chandra, here comes a new explosion. The new chat in #SriLeaks is of director-producer Kona Venkat. A screen shot is going viral where he was seen commenting on her weight. On this, the director came out and slammed the actress through a tweet. He posted, “I’m shocked with some allegations made by one actress against some film personalities including me... I demand the government to conduct through police investigation in these allegations and punish whoever are guilty... Truth must prevail legal action follows!!”
