In a shocking turn of events, Vijay Sethupathi's Sindhubaadh may get delayed after Baahubali: The Conclusion producer has demanded a stay on its release. Reason? Non-clearance of dues from the former's side. The producer of Prabhas' movie has moved to Telangana High Court against Dhanush's upcoming movie Enai Noki Paayum Thota (ENTP) and Vijay Sethupathi's Sindhubaadh to demand a stay on these releases. Producer Shobu Yarlagadda stated that SN Rajarajan had a loan agreement for Rs 28 crore while he managed to pay just Rs 12.5 crore. Now Shobu Yarlagadda wants the court to intervene and help him recover the remaining Rs 17.60 crore. "Rajarajan had acquired the theatrical rights of Baahubali: The Conclusion, which was released on 28 April 2017, for the entire Tamil Nadu and is yet to pay Rs 17.60 crore of the contract amount to my client (Arka Mediaworks). He issued a cheque of the same amount for repayment of dues in August 2018, but it was returned with a 'funds insufficient' remark by the bank. Following the court's final order in February, my client has been trying to reach him, but there has been no response. Rajarajan failed to honour the contract and didn't comply with the court directive. Hence, my client has initiated criminal prosecution against him and sought for attachment of the bank accounts belonging to his distribution house," said the banner's lawyer Pujitha Gorantla to Cinema Express.
Post the complaint the Telangana Court has ordered a status quo on the release of film #Sindhubaadh. Vijay Sethupathi's Sindhubaadh is all set to hit the screens on June 21 and we wonder if the makers will go ahead with its original release date or shift it to a new one.
