Malayalam film industry’s superstar, Mammootty, was last seen in the period-drama, Mamangam. After delivering a brilliant performance in it, he is all set to impress us all in another intriguing avatar, and this time it would be as ‘The Priest’. Mammukka’s (as he is fondly called) upcoming flick is titled as The Priest and he would be seen playing the titular role. The Priest first look poster features only Mammootty, in which he is seen in a brown cassock (a full-length garment worn by certain Christian clergy) and reading the Holy Bible. This is quite an intense poster, set against the backdrop of a church. Now seeing the look of Mammukka, fans of the actor (the Malayalis especially), would be reminded of Kadamattathu Kathanar (a Malankara Church priest of Kadamattom Church, who is believed to have possessed supernatural powers). The upcoming thriller flick is written and directed by Jofin T Chacko. This movie would also feature Manju Warrier as the lead actress. For the unversed, it is the first time that these two actors have teamed up for a movie. It also features actresses Nikhila Vimal and Saniya Iyappan in a key role. Anto Joseph is bankrolling the film in association with B Unnikrishnan. It would be produced under the banners of Anto Joseph Film Company and RD Illuminations.
