South superstar Vijay, who was last seen in AR Murugadoss' Sarkar, is currently working on his upcoming film tentatively titled Thalapathy 63 with director Atlee. The film, that is in its last leg of the shoot, is currently being shot in Delhi. Reportedly, the shooting of the final schedule, which is expected to extend for a duration of fifteen days, has begun today (June 17). After Theri (2016) and Mersal (2017), Thalapathy 63 will be Atlee's third collaboration with actor Vijay. Bankrolled by Archana Kalpathi, under the banner of AGS Entertainments, Thalapathy 63 is touted to be a sports drama, where Vijay will be seen essaying the role of a football coach. Nayanthara will be paired opposite Vijay after Villu (2009).

The film also features Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivekh, and Yogi Babu in significant roles. Apart from them, Indhuja, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha, and Reba Monica John will be seen as the footballers, who will be coached by Vijay's characters. While the music for the film has been scored by AR Rahman, the film is scheduled for a Diwali release.
