Tamil superstar Vishal, who was last seen in Sandakozhi 2, was arrested by Chennai Police for causing a commotion at Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) Office. Intriguingly, Vishal himself is the TFPC President, serving the office for a year or so. The commotion happened when Vishal tried to break open the lock on TFPC office door, placed there by a group of producers. The producers were unhappy about Vishal not divulging anything about some deposit amount kept in the office and allowing more than four releases to come out in a week (December 21). They demanded that Vishal resign from the post, as per a report in Behindwoods. Sandakozhi 2 New Trailer: Vishal and Keerthy Suresh's Action Entertainer is All About Explosive Violence and Pretty Romance- Watch Video.

Following a fight, Chennai Police came in to arrest Vishal and maintain peace. They also assured the producers that the key for the lock can be collected at the Commissioner's office. Speaking to Behindwoods, producer Alagappan, who was one of the protestors, said, "We had asked about the deposit amount that is there in the association, but Vishal never responded. Producer Kathiresan said that he doesn't have an idea about it. As a secretary of the association, Kathiresan's answer was not right and acceptable. Moreover, when he (Vishal) came into power, he assured that only a maximum of 4 films will release for a weekend. But, last week, we had seen the release of more than 4 films and as a result, most of the producers faced a big loss." Shah Rukh Khan's Zero To Face More Competition on December 21; Four Big Tamil Movies, Starring Dhanush, Vijay Sethupathi Clashing on Same Day!

He added, "This week, there are 7 movies, and Vishal says the association will not interfere in the release, since it is a holiday weekend. This will definitely incur loss for many producers, and so, we have all come together (around 200 people) to ask Vishal to resign as the President of TFPC. He is making decisions independently without having any discussions or meetings with other members. We have now locked the office and we will give the keys in the register office."

The website managed to be in touch with Vishal who revealed his frustration to them. He said, "Unauthorised people lock our office and the police provides protection for an unofficial lock. As a President, I want to go and do my work and when I entered, the Police argued and arrested me, saying that I am obstructing a Government servant to do the job. This is definitely not acceptable."

Vishal will be kept in custody once the talks between Vishal's team and the police are over, and the door to the TFPC's office is opened.
