If things had fallen as per initial plans, then Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi and National award winning Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil would have shared scenes in Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Unfortunately, due to date clashes, Fahadh had to walk out of the film and he was replaced by Arun Vijay. However, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil are all set to share the screen, this time for sure, in director Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Super Deluxe. The first look of the film, also starring Samantha Akkineni and Ramya Krishnan, is out and it is catching everyone's eyeballs. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam Movie Review: A Vintage Mani Ratnam is Back in This Arvind Swami, STR, Jyothika, Vijay Sethupathi-Starrer, Claim Critics.

The reason for that is, of course, Sethupathi's look as a transgender. Taking a cue from fellow actor Sivakarthikeyan's drag act in Remo, Vijay Sethupathi has surely nailed his look right in the film. Of course, when has this actor failed to surprise us with the choice of films he does and the looks he has in them (even though he doesn't go chameleonic as, say Chiyaan Vikram). The poster also has the other main stars in the film, including Ramya Krishnan, Samantha (who is working with Sethupathi for the first time), Fahadh, as well as Mysskin, Gayathrie and Bagavathi Perumal.  Nawazuddin Siddiqui Starts Prep For His Tamil Debut in Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi's Film.

This is Thiagarajan Kumararaja's first film in seven years, after the acclaimed  Aaranya Kaandam that came out in 2011. Nalan Kumarasamy, Mysskin and Neelan have collaborated to work on the screenplay, while Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the score.
