SIIMA 2024 awarded the top talents from the Kannada and Telugu industries. The first day of the prestigious award ceremony took place on Saturday night in Dubai.
One of the most prestigious award ceremonies in the South Indian film industry, the South Indian International Movie Awards, also known as SIIMA, is currently taking place in Dubai. The first day of the event was truly a night to remember. Some of the biggest names from the Kannada (Sandalwood) and Telugu (Tollywood) industries were recognised for their contributions. The event, which took place at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, was hosted by Rishi-Shubra Aiyappa for the Kannada categories and Sudigali Sudeer-Simran Chaudhary for the Telugu categories. Coming to the winners, Telugu star Nani took home the Best Actor Award for his outstanding performance in the movie Dasara. The film went on to win multiple other honours, including Best Director - Srikanth Odela and Best Actress - Keerthy Suresh. Rakshit Shetty won the Best Actor Award (Kannada) for Sapta Saagaradaache Ello - Side A. Mrunal Thakur was honoured with the Best Actress Critics for her performance in Hi Nanna.
