According to a report published in IB Times, Lyca Productions has decided to shelve the movie due to budget issues.

Going by the reports, the makers of the film had initially assigned a certain budget but the amount went double the decided one. This became a troublesome point for the makers of the film and now it seems like they have decided to shelve the project. The Baahubali director is popular among the masses for his larger than life sets and brings the magnanimity on screen. However, at this point, Lyca Productions are not willing to spend much. The original film was released in 1996. Indian starred Kamal Haasan, Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar in the pivotal roles. What drew the audience attraction was Kamal’s irreplaceable makeup and versatile acting, which won him the National Award the same year.
