'From the director of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom' - that's one phrase that has upped my expectations for this upcoming Tamil film, Seethakaathi. If you have seen this comedy film, you would know what I am talking about. It was one of the films that brought in the resurgence of actor Vijay Sethupathi into superstardom and gave Tamil cinema another visual opportunity of his wonderful ability to make you smile. Seethakaathi has been in the news for portraying Vijay Sethupathi as an old man for the second time in his career, after Orange Mittayi. The new trailer that has landed gives more insight into his character. Vijay Sethupathi plays an ageing superstar, lovingly called by his fans as Ayya (and looking a lot like the older Kamal Haasan in Indian). One day, he refuses to come for a film shoot and all hell breaks loose. We see interviews of people who have worked with him, and whose works were rejected by him. Producers are giving threats to him on camera to bring him back on sets. Seethakaathi also has Rajkumar and Bagavathi Perumal, who were also a core part of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. The movie also stars Archana, J Mahendran and Mouli. Govinda Vasantha has scored the music for the film. Seethakaathi, which is also Vijay Sethupathi's 25th film, is all set to release on December 20.
