Thalapathy Vijay definitely knows how to offer crackling films every Diwali. With his latest outing Sarkar, with AR Murugadoss, the actor has finally bagged a spot in the Rs 200 crore club alongside Superstar Rajinikanth. Despite all the controversies surrounding the film, Sarkar has raked in big bucks within the first week of it's release, making it a Diwali blockbuster. Speculations by trade experts regarding Sarkar's box office collection to cross Rs 200 crores in the first week seems to have been true all along!

With the money minted by Sarkar, the actor has become the first and only hero who has managed to score two back to back 100 crore grossers in Tamil Nadu. In case you didn't know, Sarkar, within its first four days, crossed the lifetime collections of his previous film, Theri, which raked in Rs 150 crores worldwide. Trade expert Kaushik LM tweeted, "#Sarkar150CR+ WW gross, in just 4 days 👌👌 Crosses Theri's WW gross & is steadily racing towards the 200 CR mark next. Overseas is giving grt numbers for #ThalapathyVijay as usual, along with TN.. His 3rd 150+.. Vera level! #Sarkar"

Speaking of Sarkar's earnings, trade expert Surendhra MK tweeted, "#Thalapathy #Vijay becomes the FIRST and ONLY hero to score two Rs 100 crore grossers in Tamil Nadu. Extraordinary feat for the star and a collar-raising moment for his fans 🔥 🔥 👏 👏 He also joins Superstar #Rajinikanth in the Rs 200 crore WW gross club with 2 films apiece 🔥"

Due to the violence that overtook the theaters on Thursday and Friday, the collection saw a consistent downward slope. However, considering how the film entered the Rs 100 crore club within two days since release, after the violence calmed down, the box office roared with Sarkar-buffs! Sarkar has been consistently breaking records such as Baahubali 2's opening day collections, second day collections, Theri's lifetime collections and more. Perhaps Sarkar has had an effect on the collections of Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindostan as well!
