RIP Karunanidhi: Rajinikanth, Anirudh Ravichander and Other Celebs From the Tamil Film Industry Mourn Kalaignar’s Death

Kalaignar M Karunanidhi, DMK Chief and one of the most celebrated politicians in Tamil Nadu along with the late Jayalalitha breathed his last at 6.10 pm today. The politician's prolonged illness had been a matter of concern in the state for a couple of days now. Celebrities from the Tamil film industry have been tweeting their emotions and condolences on the micro-blogging site. Superstar Rajinikanth calls today a black day as the politician passed away today. Khushbu Sundar, who was very close to Kalaignar posted a series of tweets expressing her grief. She even tweeted that she feels like a orphan now that Kalaignar is no more.

She first tweeted, "The era of the great #Dr.KalaignarKarunanidhi comes to an end.. a name that will be etched in the minds n hearts of everyone in TN..he will be remembered till this planet has history of tall Statesmen who have served their people till the last breath..#Dr.Kalaignar is immortal🙏" and then also posted the last picture she took with him and wrote, "This was the last pic I had taken with him a little over a month ago..never knew this will be the last time I will be seeing the great Leader..will miss you Appa.. [sic]"

Today India has lost one of its tallest leaders. Deeply saddened by the passing away of Kalaignar Karunanidhi ji. Deepest condolences to the family and loved ones 🙏🏽 His contribution to the state of Tamil Nadu, its people has been immense. True Champion of Tamil pride. RIP Sir.
