Ram Pothineni’s film iSmart Shankar released on July 18. Directed and produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur, the film has landed in trouble after Jai Akash lodged a complaint against the director. Jai Akash is known for his works in Tamil and Telugu film industry. As per a report in a leading daily, the actor accused Puri Jagannadh of plagiarism. As per a report in TOI, Jai Akash has filed the plagiarism complaint against the film iSmart Shankar and Puri Jagannadh with the Tamil Film Producers Council. Jai Akash was quoted saying, “When I went to watch iSmart Shankar last Friday in Chennai, I was shocked to find that the core plot line and screenplay of the film were the same as my film,” reports Deccan Chronicle. Spice Andhra quoted the actor saying, “We are planning to release the movie in Telugu with the title Kothaga Unnadu. But the latest movie iSmart Shankar came as a shock to us. I have tried to reach Puri and Charmee, but they are not responding. So, I have filed a complaint in Tamil Producers Council.
