Thanks to the just concluded 48-day strike in Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth's gangster drama Kaala couldn't keep up with its initial release date plans. The movie was supposed to come out on April 27, clashing with the Hollywood biggie, Avengers: Infinity War. But even though the strike has been lifted, the makers aren't very keen to release the movie without enough promotions on the previously scheduled release date.
Instead there were speculations that Kaala might come out on June 14 or 15, taking advantage of the Eid festival. So that meant it would have clashed with Salman Khan's Race 3 that is scheduled to release on June 15. Rajinikanth vs Salman Khan at the box office? Hmmm...wasn't that an interesting match to see?
However, actor Dhanush who is producing Kaala for his pa-in-law, Rajinikanth, has confirmed that Kaala will release a week early instead, i.e. on June 7, therefore avoiding a clash with Race 3. Check out his tweet below -

Well, that's a bummer, but it works for everyone in the business. Kaala is directed by Pa Ranjith who previously made Kabali with Rajinikanth in the lead. The movie also stars Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Eswari Rao, Anjali Patil and Pankaj Tripathi.
