Rajinikanth made his film debut with K Balachander's Tamil drama Apoorva Raagangal, which released on August 18, 1975. The film was not only well-received but also went on to win three National Awards.
With more and more films, Thalaiva went from an actor to a performer, who not only enthralled his audience but moved them to tears.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth, who was last seen in Petta, is currently shooting for Darbar, helmed by AR Murugadoss. Rajinikanth's Darbar is set for a Pongal 2020 release. Darbar, which will be entirely shot in Mumbai as reports suggest, marks both Rajinikanth and Murugadoss' return to familiar territory, as both have shot extensively in that city for their films. While Santosh Sivan will be cranking the camera for this Rajinikanth film after Mani Ratnam's Thalapathy, Anirudh Ravichander is in-charge of the music. Watch this space for further updates.
