For months, we have been waiting for the glimpse of the first teaser of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0. Touted as India's biggest and most expensive movie, the sci-fi thriller has been going through a lot of post-production issues and therefore, delayed release. 2.0, directed by Shankar, was supposed to come out early on January 26 this year, before getting postponed to April 27. Needless to say, it didn't make to its April date either, with no official confirmation given for its new release date. There is a new buzz that 2.0 might come out during Independence Day weekend, but that is still hearsay. Amy Jackson plays the female lead in the movie.
Even the promotions, save for a grand audio launch and a few posters, is going through a hiatus. But if the latest rumour is to be believed, we might have the first teaser coming out soon. Certain reports state that the makers of 2.0 might show the teaser during the IPL final which is happening on May 27, with the trailer coming out on June 29.
Twitter is already abuzz with this news, though there has been no official confirmation from the producers, Lyca Productions, on this. In fact, the official Twitter handle of the movie has last posted an update about the film on March 4.
Exclusive: #2Point0 teaser to be unveiled on 27th May.

While we still are taking this rumour with a grain of salt, it would not be silly to think that the makers of the biggest Indian film would look to deliver a good first impression on the night when many Indians are glued to the television screens. Earlier a leaked teaser popped up online, featuring unfinished VFX work and green screens. Let's wait for the producers to give an official statement on the actual teaser reveal date.
2.0 is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster, Robot aka Enthiran. Rajinikanth has a double role in the movie - android Chitti and his creator Vaseegaran - which he continues for the sequel too. Akshay Kumar plays the main antagonist.
