Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer 2.0, directed by Shankar, was supposed to have a grand release in China in July. After getting postponed multiple times, the film is now all set to release in September. The film is now slated to release on September 6 and has a massive release in over 56,000 screens (including 49,000 3D screens). 2.0 is a film that is heavy on VFX and computer graphics and is a sequel to the veteran actor's 2010 film Enthiran. Ahead of its September 6 release, the film is getting a huge response and it seems the film is already leading at the No 1 spot for advance bookings. Bollywood star Aamir Khan too has met with a huge success in China for his films such as 3 Idiots and Dangal. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted giving out details about 2.0's advance booking.

HY Media has secured the distribution rights in China and they had decided to halt the film's release in July because of stiff competition from Lion King. A source close to the team had told an entertainment portal, "The Chinese poster of 2.0 has been out. It'll be embarrassing if the Chinese release gets cancelled at this point.
