Prasanth Varma to Direct Awe Sequel! Have Kajal Aggarwal and Vijay Sethupathi Bagged the Lead Roles?

The Telugu film Awe that revolved around child abuse, sexual abuse, drug abuse and homosexuality, is going to get a sequel. This film won National Award for Best Special Effects and Best Make-up this year. The sequel would be helmed by Prasanth Varma and he has confirmed about it to a leading daily. Now speculations are rife that Kajal Aggarwal might be a part of Awe 2. The other name that is doing rounds on social media is of Vijay Sethupathi.

Talking about Awe sequel, in an interview to Hyderabad Times director Prasanth Varma was quoted saying as, “Yes, it is officially in the works. I’m ready with the script. We intend to take the Awe franchise forward with the sequel.” He also said, “Awe 2 is going to be completely different. The screenplay and storyline will be heavy and intriguing. Unlike part one, which had multiple stories running parallelly, this film will have just one story.”

Prasanth Varma also revealed that he has approached Kajal Aggarwal to play the lead in the sequel. Kajal played the character named Kali, a troubled woman, in the 2018 film. The actress is yet to confirm about it. Not only that, the makers are also considering Vijay Sethupathi to play a key role in the film. We have to wait for some more time to hear the official announcement on the star cast. The director has also confirmed that Awe 2 will be released in multiple languages.
