He is presently shooting the Tamil remake of Pink, in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad, and that’s where the shooting of Mohanlal’s upcoming film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is also been taken place. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is a historical war film co-written and directed by Priyadarshan. Mohanlal essays the role of Kunjali Marakkar IV in this Malayalam-language film. The star cast also includes Manju Warrier, Prabhudheva, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Nedumudi Venu and Siddique in pivotal roles. Mohanlal’s son Pranav would be essaying the role of a young Kunjali Marakkar IV. The film is made on a budget of Rs 100 crore. Meanwhile, Ajith's Tamil remake of Pink would be produced by Boney Kapoor and this would be the first film Boney producing in Kollywood. The film also features Rangaraj Pandey, Adhik Ravichandran and Sharaddha Srinath.
