Prithiviraj Sukumaran is presently basking in the success of his directorial debut, Lucifer, in which Mohanlal was in the lead. And not that long ago the announcement of its sequel was also been made, Empuraan. And now Prithviraj is gearing up for the release of his next, Pathinettam Padi, in which he’ll share screen space with Mammootty. We have seen Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s camaraderie in Pokkiri Raja that released in 2010 and in many other films as well. This time it is going to be totally different avatars of the two actors that we’re going to watch on the silver screens. Mammootty who has taken his style quotient to another level in this film will be seen portraying the role of John Abraham Palackal. Talking more about the character John Abraham Palackal the film’s director further said, “John is a man of great intellect; he is the mastermind who engineers the proceedings in the movie. The role will have room for Mammootty to perform humour, action, drama and also flaunt a deep and intense persona.” Shankar Ramakrishnan also gave a brief idea about the film. About it he was quoted saying, “An incident which affects John’s brother’s life compels him to fly down to Kerala. The movie is about an adolescent group that is on the mode reaching adulthood. How John’s life is linked to their lives forms the crux of the story.”

The music of Pathinettam Padi will be composed by A.R. Rahman’s nephew A.H. Kaashif. Produced under the banners of August Cinema, in this film we’ll also see Suraj Venjarammoodu, Manoj K. Jayan, Unni Mukundan and Ahaana Krishnan in key roles. Pathinettam Padi is all set to hit the big screens on July 5!
