The 2019 Padma Awards took place today (March 11) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. It was in January this year when the recipients of Padma Awards were announced. Total 112 names were announced out of which 56 personalities were conferred with the prestigious awards by President Ram Nath Kovind. South superstar Mohanlal was conferred with the Padma Bhushan and the actor has thanked his well-wishers for being a part of his journey of his filmy career. It has been four decades since Mohanlal has been a part of the Malayalam film industry. The actor has taken up various kinds of roles and delivered it with absolute perfection. On receiving the Padma Bhushan, the actor took to Twitter and expressed, “Received #PadmaBhushan, The 3rd Highest Civilian Award from The Honorable President of India, with jubilation. I express fervent gratitude to the Supreme Power & all well wishers, for being a part of my journey. After receiving the Padma Bhushan, Mohanlal told ANI, “It's a great honour. It's a great achievement as an individual, as an actor. It's my 41st year in the film industry so I'm giving all the credit to my colleagues, my family and those who supported me in this beautiful journey.” On the work front, Mohanlal will soon be seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial Lucifer. He has also busy shooting for the high budget film, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which is planned to release in 2020.
