The National award-winning Malayalam superstar, Mammootty, is playing the lead in Oru Kuttanadan Blog. Former scenarist Sethu (of Sachin-Sethu fame) is making his directorial debut with the family entertainer. Mammootty has had a hit and miss affair with the box office these days, so expectations are high from Oru Kuttanadan Blog which is the superstar's Onam gift for his fans. The trailer of the film shows the ever-youthful Mammootty leading his band of boys, Sanju Sivram, Jacob Gregory, Jude Anthony Joseph, Shaheen Siddique and others, as they find themselves landing from one trouble into another. This also brings Mammootty's character in crossroads with the cop in charge of the town, played by Shamna Kasim. We also get glimpses of his romantic equations with Raai Laxmi and Anu Sithara. Also since the movie is set in a fictional village in Kuttanad, there are some very beautiful locales of backwaters and palm acres.

Oru Kuttanadan Blog also stars Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Adil Ibrahim and Sunny Wayne. In an interview to New Indian Express, director Sethu revealed a little something about the movie's plot. He had said, "The film is told from the viewpoints of a blogger (Sanju Sivram) and a reader (Sunny Wayne). Sanju's blog is an account of the various happenings in his village and when Sunny reads it from abroad, he feels nostalgic. Mammootty was like a reference book for me. Each and every thing he does is like a mini tutorial. All the subtle variations, gestures, and mannerisms teach you a lot."
