Thankfully, the festive period is not going to be a release-free time this year. Yes, fans of Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Fahadh Faasil would be disappointed with no movie releases of their fave superstars. ARM aka Ajayante Randam Moshanam, KishKindha Kaandam, Kondal and Bad Boyz are the four main releases in Malayalam Cinema during the Onam 2024 period. Let's check out what these films are all about, who is the director and who are starring in them.

'ARM'

The biggest Onam 2024 Malayalam movie release is, undoubtedly, debutant director Jithin Lal's ARM (Ajayante Randam Moshanam). Scripted by Sujith Nambiar and Deepu Pradeep, the big-budget action-adventure is set across three timelines and is going for a Pan-India release. Tovino Thomas plays three different roles in the movie; ARM also features an ensemble supporting cast in Basil Joseph, Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Sanju Sivram, Jagadish, Pramod Shetty, Aju Varghese among others. ARM is releasing in theatres on September 12. ‘ARM’ Star Tovino Thomas Reveals He Has No Interest to Enter Bollywood as an ‘Outsider’ and ‘Steal Roles’.

'KishKindha Kaandam'

KishKindha Kaandam is a mystery drama set against the backdrop of nature. Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, who previously made Kakshi Amminippilla, the movie is scripted by Bahul Ramesh. KishKindha Kaandam stars Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, Vijayaraghavan, Ashokan, Nishan, and Jagadish, among others. A speciality of the film is that it reunites Asif Ali and Nishan after 13 years. They had made their debut together in Shyamaprasad's 2009 film Rithu, while also having worked together in movies like Apoorvaragam and Ithu Nammude Katha. KishKindha Kaandam is releasing on September 12.

'Kondal'

Backed by hitmaker Sophia Paul (Minnal Murali, RDX), Kondal is a sea-faring action thriller that's directed by debutante Ajith Mampally. The film is scripted by Mampally, Roylin Robert and Satheesh Thonakkal. Antony 'Pepe' Varghese plays the main lead, while Kannada star Raj B Shetty returns to Malayalam Cinema after playing the main antagonist in Turbo earlier this year. Kondal is releasing on September 13.

'Bad Boyz'

#MeToo accused Omar Lulu (Happy Wedding, Oru Adaar Love) is directing this action comedy entertainer, which he and Sarang Jayaprakash scripted. Rahman plays the main lead, while Bad Boyz also has an ensemble cast that includes Dhyan Sreenivasan, Babu Antony, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Motta Rajendran, Ramesh Pisharody, Sheelu Abraham, Bibin George, and Anson Paul. The film will be released on September 13.

Apart from these theatrical releases, Jeethu Joseph's Nunakkuzhi, starring Basil Joseph in the lead, is arriving on September 13 on Zee5, after its theatrical release on August 15. Jis Joy's Thalavan had already arrived on SonyLIV on September 9. The film, which stars Biju Menon and Asif Ali, was a hit in theatres when it dropped on May 24, 2024. A sequel is in the making.
