That Mohanlal is something of an all-rounder is a fact any Malayalam movie buff should be knowing by now. An incredible actor par excellence who can play around with any genre, Mohanlal has also been a producer and is now turning into a director with the upcoming fantasy film, Barroz. Some of the popular songs that he did playback singing for are Aye Auto's "A E I O U",  Sphadikam's "Ezhimala",  Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu's "Kaithapoovin" (his most popular song that didn't feature him as an actor), Balettan's "Karu Karu Karutthoru", Bhramaram's "Annarakanna Vaa" among others. Not many know though, that the superstar has also sung for non-film albums as well, most of which are either festive or devotional.

On the other hand, Malayalam's other favourite megastar Mammootty's playback singing isn't as prolific as his close competitor and closer friend. However, there are some notable songs that he had sung, including one Onam song!

In this special Onam feature, let's look at those songs that Lalettan and Mammukka have sung for the occasion of Thiruvonam. Mohanlal has sung for two albums around the famous Malayali festival, which includes five songs. A couple of them have also earned evergreen status. Onathappan

This 1992 album has three Mohanlal songs each tuned by different composers - MG Sreekumar, the late MG Radhakrishnan and Berny-Ignatius. The song "Pookacha" composed by Berny-Ignatius was a huge hit. Check out the song below:

This album came out in 1998 and has tunes composed by Berny-Ignatius.
