Things were different last year for all Keralites. The state was hit by the worst rains, causing floods, claiming hundreds of lives. Not only the Malayalis in Kerala but across the globe, did not celebrate Onam. Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan had announced, “Let’s celebrate this #Onam by bringing help to those among us who are suffering. More than a million of our people are in relief camps. We have together survived the worst disaster in our State's history. Let us also set an example in rebuilding efforts.” Even this year Kerala has been hit by floods. But the Malayalis still have a ray of hope that everything will get resolved and they’ll get to celebrate Onam 2019.
