Odiyan Trailer

The hype around Odiyan is high among the Mohanlal fans because it presents the Malayalam superstar in a very different avatar. Also it is one of the most expensive films made in Malayalam cinema this year. But above all, the success of Odiyan will help Mohanlal's dream project of making a Rs 1000 crore Mahabharat project. For it is the director of Odiyan, adman turned film-maker VK Sreekumar Menon, who is touted to helm the other prestigious project. So yeah, there are a lot of hopes pinned on OdiyanLucifer: Vivek Oberoi Makes His Malayalam Debut in This Mohanlal Film Directed By Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The teaser that came out a couple of months back had gone viral within seconds. Even though it didn't show much, except a covered Mohanlal walking, it felt powerful thanks to the awesome background score. The BG score comes into play once again in the recently launched trailer that is all sorts of intriguing. Not to mention, Mohanlal's character. Hailed as the 'King of Darkness', the trailer manages to successfully show the enigma of Mohanlal's Odiyan. The action scenes look cool too, and they remind us of Pulimurugun, except without the tiger of course. Considering that Peter Hein is the stunt director in both the films, this was expected. Speaking of Mohanlal's looks in the film, the one with the long hair and beard worked for me, but the completely shaved look felt very distracting. It felt as if VFX was used to de-age the actor and if it was done, then it isn't that effective. Mohanlal Birthday Special: 12 Movies of the Superstar from 12 Genres That You Should Watch if You are a Lalettan Fan.

The other supporting characters, including the film's female lead Manju Warrier, is shown in glimpses.
