Celebrity biopics as a genre is a hot rage right now after the super-successes of Bollywood film, Sanju (Sanjay Dutt biopic) and the Telugu film Mahanati (Mahanati Savitri biopic). Speaking of the latter, Mahanati, which came out earlier this year, has Malayali actress Keerthy Suresh play the lead role, with Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Devarakonda in supporting roles. Now the late Mahanati Savitri will again be brought back on screen, this time in a supporting capacity and played by another Malayali actress. Nithya Menen, known for her roles in OK Kanmani and AWE, will play the tragic yesteryear actress in the upcoming NTR biopic. The actress has taken to Twitter to reveal her look in a new poster that has recreated a still from a song in the film, Gundamma Katha. Giving her company in the poster is the film's lead, Nandamuri Balakrishna reprising his father, NT Rama Rao's role in the film. Speaking more about the biopic, it will be released in two parts. NTR Nayakadu will release on January 9 and NTR Mahanayakudu will release on January 24. Both the movies are directed by Krish. The movies also star Vidya Balan, Ammani, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Rana Daggubati and Poonam Bajwa. Mahesh Babu, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sumanth, Rakul Preet, Prakash Raj and Ravi Kishen reportedly have cameos in the film.
