One of the best scenes in Jude Anthany Joseph's Malayalam film 2018 was when youngsters came in droves to assist the government in helping them in distributing relief supplies and rescue operations for the 2018 Kerala flood victims. The scene was nothing fictional like the floods depicted in the movie; it was based on inspiring real-life events of youngsters in Kerala putting their lives at risk to come help their fellow beings in their time of need. Now as Kerala faces another natural disaster in the terrible Wayanad landslides, the youth are once again doing more than their bit in helping the authorities in supplying clothes, food and other essentials for the survivors and the displaced. Among those brave youths is actress Nikhila Vimal, who was last seen in the Malayalam hit Guruvayoor Ambalanadiyil. Wayanad Landslides Death Toll Update: 159 Killed, 98 Missing as Rescue Operations Continue in Kerala District.
In a video shared by the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the ruling (CPIM) party in the state, Nikhila Vimal can be seen helping the young volunteers pack the essential supplies for the landslide victims.
The DYFI post mentions that the video was taken at the collection centre at Taliparamba taluka in Kannur district, and Nikhila worked the whole night with other volunteers to get the aid work done.
