Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar has stepped into the legendary Amitabh Bachchan's shoes for the Kollywood remake of PINK. The legal drama that came out in 2016 was a critical hit, and revolved around themes of sexual harassment and moral policing. Amitabh Bachchan had played a bi-polar suffering advocate who defends three women who were falsely accused of trying to kill a diplomat's son. It would be the same role that Ajith would be playing in the remake, Nerkonda Paarvai, that marks the Tamil debut for producer Boney Kapoor. Nerkonda Paarvai Producer Boney Kapoor Wishes Thala Ajith on His 48th Birthday!

We have already seen the aged but fierce look of Ajith in the posters. The three female leads in the film are played by Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang. Tariang is the only actor to reprise her role from the original film. Popular Bollywood actress Vidya Balan also has an important role in the movie. We were looking forward to watch Ajith recreate Amitabh Bachchan's role and from the trailer, it does look like he has done a fine job. The trailer opens with Ajith asking "Are you a Virgin?" to Meera's character and it almost takes us back to the power-packed Pink.

Nerkonda Paarvai is directed by H Vinoth. Interestingly, Ajith had agreed to play the lead in the movie in respect to Boney Kapoor's late wife and actress Sridevi. During the shoot of the Tamil version of English Vinglish, Ajith, who had a cameo in the movie was convinced by Sridevi to act in a production. Ajith chose PINK as a movie he wants to be remade in Tamil, so Boney Kapoor bought the remake rights of the film.
