The Tamil film Kolaiyuthir Kaalam is in buzz since quite a long time. The trailer launch event of this film stirred controversy after actor-politician Radha Ravi made derogatory remarks on lead actress Nayanthara. The incident made many celebs to come in support of the Lady Superstar, requesting filmmaker and producers to not cast him in any of the future projects. Besides this, the other reason why Kolaiyuthir Kaalam is in news due to its release. The film has been postponed thrice and now the makers have announced when this Chakri Toleti directorial will hit the theatres. The upcoming mystery thriller produced under the banners of Etcetera Entertainment was first scheduled to release on June 14. But it had to be delayed as the film’s title was same as Sujatha Rangarajan’s novel. To get the rights, director Balaji K. Kumar paid a hefty sum of Rs 10 lakh. It was then reported that it would release on July 26, but again that was pushed to August 1. Now the makers have finally confirmed that Kolaiyuthir Kaalam would be getting the theatrical release on August 2. Its Nayanthara vs Jyothika! Kolaiyuthir Kaalam also features Bhumika Chawla, Prathap Pothen and Rohini Hattangadi in key roles. This film marks Nayanthara’s fourth release after Viswasam, Airaa and Mr. Local. It would be clashing with Jyothika and Revathi starrer Jackpot which is also scheduled to release on August 2. Both the film has the best actresses of South Indian cinema.
