The trailer launch of Kolaiyuthir Kaalam created quite a stir after Radha Ravi made derogatory remarks on the film’s lead actress, Nayanthara. His comments has not gone down well not just with the actress but with many other industry members. There are many celebs who have come out in support of Nayanathara and has also demanded that Radha Ravi must not be cast in any films anymore. In fact DMK has temporarily suspended actor-partyman Radha Ravi after this incident for which Nayanthara has thanked them in the statement that is released. But this time, the Kolaiyuthir Kaalam actress has released a statement over the sexist remarks made by Radha Ravi and also requested Nadigar Sangam to setup Internal Complaints Committee as per the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s dictum. In the statement released she has thanked President of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Thiru. M.K.Stalin for taking strict action against Radha Ravi. Nayanthara started the statement saying, “I rarely issue public statements, as I have always allowed my professional work to speak for itself. However desperate times mandate desperate measures. Today, I am compelled to issue a detailed statement so as to clarify my own position and also to champion the cause of women who bear the brunt of male insensitivities and sexism.”

After the speech that Radha Ravi made, KJR Studios announced that they wouldn’t cast the Sarkar actor anymore in their films. Nayanthara’s beau Vignesh Shivan also requested to ban the actor and demanded strict actions to be taken against him.
