Nandamuri Balakrishna's NTR Biopic Also Starring Vidya Balan to be Renamed Kathanayakudu; Release Planned in January 2019
As per the latest update, the NTR biopic is all set to release on January 9, 2019.
Actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna is playing his father, the late legendary NT Rama Rao in a biopic made on his life. Formerly titled N.T.R., the upcoming Telugu film is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi aka Krish. The movie also stars Vidya Balan in the lead, playing Basavatarakam, the wife of NT Rama Rao, in the movie. After the super success and critical acclaim received by Keerty Suresh-starrer Mahanati, biopics are the hot rage in Telugu cinema right now and fans can't wait to see what Nandamuri Balakrishna has to offer in NTR. Well, you only need to wait for the start of 2019 to see the film. As per the latest update, the NTR biopic is all set to release on January 9, 2019. The movie also has been renamed as NTR - Kathanayakudu. We also got a still from the film featuring Balakrishna re-enacting his father's role from a film.
Reports also say that the film will release in two parts, like Gangs of Wasseypur, only the second part will come out in March 2019. Interestingly, director's Krish's Bollywood debut, the controversial Manikarnika, is also releasing in January (25).
The NTR biopic also features an interesting ensemble cast with popular stars playing real-life personalities. So we have Rana Daggubati as Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu, Manjima Mohan as Nara Bhuvaneswari, Bharath Reddy as Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, Sumanth as Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sachin Khedekar as N Bhaskara Rao, Prakash Raj as Nagi Reddy and others.
