Tells Priyanka Bose.

First, Tamil filmmaker Leena Manimekalai put up a Facebook post recounting the horror she faced while working with Susi in 2005.  In fact, she had opened up about the incident on the social media platform, without naming the director, in February 2017. Finding courage through the #MeToo movement, the filmmaker reshared the post and revealed the name to be Susi Ganesan, who in turn responded to the post by calling her immoral. Alia Bhatt’s Mother Soni Razdan Joins #MeToo Movement, Says She Was Almost Raped.

Now, Amala Paul has come out in support of Leena. She shared a long post on her social media platforms talking about her own uncomfortable experience with Susi, while they worked on the film, Thiruttu Payale 2. The actress wrote, "She said, “Despite being the leading actress of Thiruttu Payale 2, I was subjected to double-meaning talks, misrepresented offers and unchivalrous bodily contacts. This pretty much made my experience a mentally fatiguing one. (sic)”

About three hours after putting up the statement, Amala put out another tweet accusing Susi and his wife of making an abusive phone call to her for the very post.

On the other hand, Susi has continued to deny all allegations made by Leena. His wife has also come out in his support and has even made slandering remarks on Leena.

In the Tamil film industry names that have been exposed in the #MeToo movement are Vairamuthu, Radha Ravi, TM Karthik, John Vijay and Karthik.
