During a media interview, the man described meeting Ranjith on the set of Bavuttiyude Namathil. The man claims that the filmmaker instructed to get in touch with him only via texts and not calling, which the man now believes was a way to avoid leaving a trace. He goes on to share when he visited Bengaluru as invited by Ranjith, he was denied entry at the hotel because visiting hours were over. He called Ranjith, who told him to use the back door. Inside the room, the man claimed Ranjith was drinking and offered him a drink, which he initially refused but later accepted.
