Fans are eagerly waiting to watch Thrissur Pooram, starring Jayasurya in the lead. In May, the makers had released his look from the upcoming action masala, and Mollywood lovers couldn’t remain calm since then. This movie is a Thrissur-based mass film and Jayasurya would be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. He would be playing the character of a mass action hero named Round Jayan. He would be performing action sequences, and it was while filming the action scenes Jayasurya collapsed. As per a report in TOI, on September 6 Malayalam actor Jayasurya collapsed on the sets of Thrissur Pooram. Music director Ratheesh Vegha who is making his debut as a writer with this film told the daily, “He (Jayasurya) fainted and suffered a mild head injury after hitting against a metal object. He was immediately taken to a private hospital and the team has taken a break for five days as he needs to rest.” Jayasurya was quoted saying as, “I was really exhausted and in the morning when I went to the location, I realised that I cannot do the action scenes as I couldn’t raise my hands.”

Jayasurya also mentioned, “Somehow, I couldn’t take the sudden drift. Maybe because I was tired. I had a blackout, fell right on my back and sustained a head injury. The shoot will continue after a break, as it is Onam as well.” Thrissur Pooram directed by Rajesh Mohanan marks the reunion of Vijay Babu and Jayasurya after Aadu 2. The former played the role of S.I. Sarbath Shameer in Aadu 2. Thrissur Pooram is expected to hit the big screens in October 2020.
