Popular Malayalam actor Captain Raju has been admitted in a hospital in Oman after he complained of severe chest pain while on a flight.
Popular Malayalam actor Captain Raju has been admitted in a hospital in Oman after he complained of severe chest pain while on a flight. He was on his way to the United States of America, when he suffered from the pain. The plane has to make an emergency landing in Muscat. As per reports, he was rushed to Kims Oman hospital there, where the doctors diagnosed it was a heart attack. Currently, he is recuperating at the hospital and the doctors are looking into stabilising his condition.
Captain Raju has acted in more than five hundred movies, as a villain, a character artiste, a comedian and even as a hero. Before he came into movies, Raju had served five years in the Indian army, where he earned the title 'Captain' which stuck with him even when he entered Malayalam cinema. Captain Raju's first movie was Raktham in 1981. Some of his popular movies are Athirathram, Aavanazhi, Nadodikkattu, Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, August 1, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha and others. His character of comical assassin Pavanayi in Nadodikkattu is considered as a cult figure in Malayalam cinema.
Captain Raju has also acted in Tamil, Telugu and even in English (Merchant-Ivory's Cotton Mary). He has also directed two movies, Itha Oru Snehagatha and Pavanayi 99.99. Captain Raju's last movie was 2017's Masterpiece where he played himself. Here's hoping that the actor makes a speedy recovery.
