Lok Sabha Election Results 2019: Prakash Raj Says 'Solid Slap on My Face' on Losing in the Bengaluru Central Constituency
Actor Prakash Raj expressed his disappointment over Twitter after conceding defeat in the Bengaluru Central constituency in Karnataka.
Actor-turned-politician, Prakash Raj who contested for his first election from the Bengaluru Central constituency in Karnataka as an independent candidate conceded defeat. The actor was trailing third against Congress' Rizwan Arshad and BJP's PC Mohan. Prakash Raj even took to Twitter to express his disappointment over the election results. The actor had announced his entry into politics in January 2019 and began campaigning even before he filed his nomination for Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
Taking to Twitter, Prakash Raj said, "Solid slap on my face. As more abuse, trolling and humiliation come my way, I will stand my ground. My resolve to fight for secular India will continue. A tough journey has just begun.”

Much of Prakash Raj's campaigning for the elections focussed on appealing to the middle class. The actor resorted to autorickshaw rides and mainly kept his focus on the economically backward electorate. Raj had also hit the headlines for his anti-Modi rhetoric.
As of 15.12, BJP's PC Mohan is leading in the Bengaluru Central constituency. As of now, the BJP is leading in 24 out of 28 seats in Karnataka.
