Aayirathil Oruvan
Aayirathil Oruvan was a big budget film helmed by Selvaraghavan. Karthi essayed the role of a coolie in this adventure fantasy film. Though the film received mixed reviews, Karthi’s role left everyone impressed.
Madras
Pa. Ranjith’s film Madras had an ensemble cast in which Karthi played the lead role. This 2014 released film was based on true events. The story was beautifully crafted and Karthi’s role as a short-tempered but carefree man was another act that enthralled the movie fanatics.
Oopiri
Oopiri directed by the ace filmmaker Vamsi Paidipally was another major hit at the box office in 2016. It was a remake of the French comedy-drama The Intouchables. Karthi portrays the character Seenu, a paroled convict, who applies the job of a caretaker to a quadriplegic billionaire that is played by Akkineni Nagarjuna. Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru
The action thriller Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru saw Karthi as DSP Theeran Thirumaran. Directed by H. Vinoth, this movie was again based on true events and it was a huge hit at the ticket windows.
Karthi has also learned filmmaking as he always wanted to be in films. In fact the actor has also pursued filmmaking course from State University of New York.
